North Korea Threatens to "Wipe US off the Map"

Tensions increase as North Korea threatens to wipe the US off the map.

Although the mainstream media continues to focus on the situation in Iran, we are focused on the threats coming from North Korea.

Government representatives continue to portray the threat as limited to a small chance for the North Korean long-range missiles to reach as far as Hawaii or Alaska.

The real threat is to Japan, which remains within range of the existing missiles, if North Korea is able to mate small but potent nuclear devices to their delivery systems.

With a nuclear gun presssed to Japan's leadership, one might expect demands made of the United States in a game of nuclear blackmail intended to disrupt political relations in the region.

It is worth mentioning that the two atomic bombs dropped by the United States on Japan to end World War II are considered "small" by today's standards. Two cities were effectively destroyed by those devices, which were delivered by airplane.

North Korea's leadership should keep in mind that the United States may have secretly developed ultra-advanced devices far beyond ordinary nuclear of thermonuclear weapons.

One possibility that has been of concern to anti-nuclear physicists: pure fusion nuclear weapons that deliver the localized firepower of atomic destruction without creating the radioactive fallout which would threaten nearby peaceful neighbors.

Should such devices exist, it would be possible to firestorm military targets threatening US interests and minimize any collateral damage to the region.
